Hot rhythms, magical Latin sounds and emotional ballads going under your skin: that’s Lightshy. This band combines all varieties of Latin American and Afro-Cuban music and guarantees good-humored dancing.

Cover songs by the Cuban cult band “Buena Vista Social Club” are part of the band’s versatile repertoire in the Spanish, English and German languages. By including titles such as “Chan Chan” or “El Cuarto de Tula”, Lightshy’s performances allow comparison with the great bands of the current Cuban musical movement. Famous songs such as “Volare” and “Bamboleo” by the legendary Gipsy Kings as well as new and old songs by Carlos Santana round off the repertoire of classic titles of this genre.Furthermore, Lightshy’s spectrum of songs include the latest chart hit “A dios le pido” by the Columbian band “Juanes”, the Bossa-Nova evergreens “Girl from Ipanema” and “Orfeo Negro”, as well as songs from the “Desperado” and “From Dusk Till Dawn” movie soundtracks. Numerous original compositions by Lightshy’s musicians in the Latin style show the band’s compassion for this type of music..

Whereas Latin is the core of Lightshy’s musical undertaking, the band members are also skilled in Rock, Pop, Soul and Jazz, which is proof of the band’s versatility.Since its creation in the city of Worms, Germany in 1992, Lightshy has shown their musical expertise as well as their delight of playing in more than one hundred live performances, which makes the band members experienced stage performers. Lightshy has published five CD’s and is currently working on its sixth.
